September saw the first outing of our new 15m wide marquee for the wedding of Nicola & Jon in Tattenhall, Cheshire. We managed to squeeze the wedding marquee into their garden, leaving around 1 cm to spare down one side! It was a very impressive layout with two entrance pagodas with comfy sofas, the main 15m marquee sit-down/entertainment marquee, a bar marquee and a walk through going through into the field to the catering and cloakroom.
The clear gable in the main marquee really gave it an open feeling with extra height and light.
June saw the wedding of the lovely Rob & Katy from Mold, Flintshire at The Tower, which is a Grade 1 listed Welsh fortified border house. We used our custom made adaption kit that reduces a marquee from 12m to 9m on the gable end without the need for gutters, whilst still retaining as much height as possible inside.
This was one of our most elaborate weddings of the year incorporating a full lighting rig, bar area with comfy sofas and even a UV canon above the dance floor.
It was quite the wedding and with the house and drive lit by our friends at Event Equipment it looked spectacular, even if we do say so ourselves. Mold and Flintshire didn’t know what had hit it with this wedding!
The bank holiday weekend in May saw us putting up a beautiful wedding marquee in the walled grounds of The Castle House B&B in Denbigh.
The access was very tight with all of our 7.5 tons of equipment having to be carried through a house sized doorway into the walled garden. The weather was not kind to us either during the erection of the marquee – with heavy rain, wind and hail it made for an interesting build.
On the day however the weather could not have been better – with the sun blazing and a light breeze it was perfect for a North Wales wedding! The Castle House has some of the most amazing views and is a fantastic venue for a wedding.
The wedding itself went without a hitch and we have had some excellent feed back from the happy couple. You can see for yourself below what a lovely venue the walls made.
At the end of April we had the pleasure of providing a wonderful wedding marquee in Barnston Village, the Wirral. It was in their hidden garden around the back of the house, which required walking all the equipment around the house and into the garden – all 6 tons of marquee and flooring! This was very good fitness work for all involved.
The marquee was given a country theme with moss green roof overlays and hessian table clothes on straight tables. The finishing touches provided by the bride, groom and families really finished off the marquee, especially the candles which were placed in the garden walls along the path.
A good time was had by all and we wish the happy couple all the best in their future life together.
On the 18th of September 2010, Robert Thomas the MD of Skye Marquees married his now wife Helen Amor with a beautiful marquee reception.
We went all out and erected a wonderful wedding marquee in front of an old oak wood on the Thomas’s family farm in Cilcain, North Wales. We kept the interior of the marquee very country with a modern twist using clear gables for extra light and a blacked out dance area with starlight sky, all hidden behind a reveil curtain during the wedding breakfast. Catherine Skates of CS Catering provided a wonderful dinner which was enjoyed by all.
Gethin and Claire wanted a traditional country marquee wedding with a tea time theme in Llanarmon-yn-yal, Denbighshire. We decided to keep the colours in the marquee very light and natural with a cream carpet, Ivory linings and natural wood chairs. The Bunting Queen was then brought in and did a wonderful job adding bunting to the interior design. The Tea Time theme worked wonderfully inside their wedding marquee as can be seen from the pictures in our gallery.
It was a joy and honour to be involved in Claire and Gethin’s wedding and we thank them for choosing us as there preferred and trusted marquee supplier.
We recently erected a small wedding marquee for an intimate wedding in Rowen, North Wales in the Snowdonia National Park. It was a beautiful setting for a marquee as the views were stunning. The weather just held out for the wedding itself and the guests commented on what a lovely and personal wedding hiring a marquee can make.
We wish Pip and Alistair all the best in their future together.
We recently erected a marquee on the terrace at Bodysgallen Hall, Llandudno for a wedding reception. The main function of the marquee was to provide a dance area for the wedding guests.
We were set the task of erecting the marquee the morning of the wedding as other guests had been staying the night before. The erection of the marquee went without any problems and it was ready for use in the time frame we were given.
The next day we were back to dismantle as the hotel wanted the terrace ready for lunch by 11 o’clock. Again the dismantling of the marquee went without a hitch and we completed the takedown within the timeframe we were given. These photos show just how elegant and beautiful the interior of the marquee looked, with the white Georgian doors framing the picturesque venues views perfectly.
The Bride, Groom and hotel were very happy with the service and we hope to be working with Bodysgallen Hall again soon.
