What size marquee should I hire?

This depends on a number of factors. For example, is it a wedding or a party? Will your guests be mainly seated? Do you need to include the space for a dance floor and bar? For further details or questions regarding marquee size please feel free to contact us directly.

How long does it take to set up the marquee?
Setup times depend on the size and number of marquees. For a typical wedding we would aim to get the main structure up in a day, ideally a couple of days before your weddings.
How much does it cost to hire a marquee?
This is one of those “how long is a piece of string?” questions. Marquee events are usually specifically tailored and have many variables such as size, flooring, lighting, furniture etc. Skye Marquees are happy to provide everything to make sure your wedding or party is perfect so please contact us directly for an accurate and bespoke quote.
Do your provide furniture hire for weddings and events?
Yes, we can provide most things that you would require for your party or wedding, including furniture.
How far in advance do I need to book a marquee?
If you have a specific date in mind then the sooner the better. Later bookings will always depend on the availability of equipment. But, it is never too late to book a marquee, so if in doubt just give us a call. We are happy to help with last minute enquiries.
Will the marquee cause any damage to my garden?
There will be no permanent damage. The grass that is covered by the marquee may fade in colour slightly, but should quickly recover.
Will you come and look at the site for the marquee?
We offer a free site visit to all our customers. This is where we will come and talk you through the options available and inspect the proposed site to make sure what we quote is suitable and will fit.
Do you provide marquees for weddings?
We specialise in wedding marquees and pride ourselves on the attention to detail and quality of our finished venues to ensure your special day is perfect.
Do I need a heater?
Heaters are a good addition to a marquee to the unpredictability of British weather, although they are not a necessity. We can provide heater hire for marquees as well as many other options.
Are marquees suitable for winter events?

Yes! With a wooden floor, glass doors and heaters, marquees can make an ideal winter venue and a fantastic Winter Wonderland theme!

What is the difference between a lined and unlined marquee?

With an unlined marquee you can see all of the metal work and wind bracing associated with the structure of the marquee. These are more suitable for shows and informal garden parties. With a lining however, the marquees are more luxurious in feel and majority of the structure is hidden …. much nicer for photographs as well, especially for weddings.

Do I need to have my own land for a marquee?

Not at all! Most large country houses offer ground rental, or you can also rent land from friends. We have also complied a useful list of venues throughout North Wales, the North West, Cheshire and the Wirral area where there is suitable land for marquee hire.

Can you recommend any additional suppliers? Caterers or florists etc?

Yes. We can recommend everything from live bands to DJs that are suitable to perform in marquees to florists and exceptional caterers that we work alongside on a weekly basis.

Do I need to provide insurance for the marquee?
Skye Marquees are covered for public and employers liability. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to provide insurance to cover the marquee and any associated equipment should anything get damaged to stolen.
Are there limitations to marquee events?
Only the limits of your imagination … and budget of course!
